Training and Player Development

Prior to moving to the United States at age 13, Al played his youth soccer in the Santiago Wanderers professional youth academy in Valparaiso, Chile.

He then continued his development playing for teams in the LIJSL in Long Island, NY and in New York City in the Italian American League.

He was a member of the Big Apple Games, Empire States Games and LIJSL Select program on several occations.

He then went on to play NCAA Division I soccer at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY and at St. John's University in Jamaica, NY.

After college he played professionally in the North Eastern Superleague and the USISL. He also represented USSA at the national indoor championships. Although still actively playing, Al now spends most of his time on the field as a coach and trainer.


Al coached at Saint John's University's women's NCAA Division I program. He was also a coach at Kellemberg Memorial H.S. in Garden City, NY.

He has over 15 years of training and coaching experience with teams in the LIJSL, Select Program and the United States Soccer Academy.

He holds an NSCAA National Coaching Diploma and currently trains several travel and developmental teams. He also oversees all training, at camps and clinics for Sound Soccer Academy.
