TUESDAY Nights.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Games to be played Tuesday Nights 7pm - 11pm
Play on the LARGEST INDOOR FIELD on Long Island
PLEASE READ PRIOR TO REGISTRATION (registration below)
*level of competition: open
*6 v 6 on field at one time
*Field is sixty yards long by forty yards wide (end zone is 7 yards long by forty yards wide)
*$650.00 per team with a twelve man roster.
ROSTER FROZEN AT THE START OF THE FIRST GAME
$200 DEPOSIT (NON-REFUNDABLE ) IS REQUIRED TO BE ADDED TO LEAGUE ROSTER.
TEAMS MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY THE FIRST GAME
TEAMS NOT PAID IN FULL WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE LEAGUES ROSTER.
*$40 REFEREE FEE, PER TEAM, PER GAME IS REQUIRED REFEREE FEE MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO EACH GAMES START TIME. NO PAYMENT WILL RESULT IN A FORFEIT LOSS AND GAME WILL NOT BE MADE UP. FORFEITING TEAM WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD.
*Clock and scoring to be kept by referees
*Five Minute OT / sudden death- first team to score wins. If teams are tied at the end of the overtime period; game ends in a tie.
*8 team league, 8 games each + playoffs and championship (FOR QUALIFYING TEAMS) ( players must play 4 games to be eligable for play-offs)
* GAMES WILL BE PLAYED ON TUESDAY NIGHTS
*teams must use NFL ball, provided by South Bay Sportsplex
* flags are provided by the South Bay Sportsplex
*any ball hitting any obstruction in field of play is automatically a dead ball(Netting, divider wires, batting cages, etc.)
*teams must wear same color shirts/Jerseys
*flags must be worn clearly (over uniform)
*no kickoffs/punts
*no metal cleats
*any player wearing any sort of metal brace or support must have the support or brace covered with padding(no exposed metal)
*no stiff arms/no flag guarding
*open hand blocking above the waist is allowed
SCORING
*6 pts for a touchdown
*1 point for passing extra point
*2 points for running extra point
*2 points for safety, scoring team gets the ball on their five yard line
* All extra points are taken from the five yard line
*21 point mercy rule: once a team takes a 21 point lead, the opposing team must score on their next possession or the game will be called
TEAM STATS
*Scoring 2 points per win / 1 point per Tie / 0 points per Loss
*Tie Breaker: over all Points – Head to Head – Points against – Points for / point diff
STRUCTURE*teams will play two twenty five minute halves with a running clock
*clock will stop at the two minute warning before the end of either half. Inside two minutes the clock will run unless stopped by Referee or timeouts
*offense starts at the five yard line, play starts once the ball is snapped by one of offensive players
*One defender must stay on the line of scrimmage
*referee makes a four second count, defender can then rush the QB
*QB can run at anytime
*One blitz is allowed every four downs
*blitz must come from outside the widest receiver
*One first down at midfield, teams have three plays to get first down.
*4th down -teams can go for first down or give the ball to opponent on their own five yard line
*possession will be based on NCAA rules. One foot inbounds is a completion.
*Halftime: 3 minutes
PENALTIES
*Holding - 10 yards
*ILLEGAL CONTACT- 10 YARDS -LOSS OF DOWN
*PASS INTERFERENCE- 15 YARDS
*FLAG GUARDING – 10 YARDS FROM POINT OF INCIDENT
*OFFSIDES – 5 YARDS
*PERSONAL FOUL -15 YARDS (TWO IN GAME PLAYER IS EJECTED)
*MOVING PICK -10 YARDS - LOSS OF DOWN
PENALTIES ARE DISCRETIONARY MADE BY GAME REFEREES AND WILL BE UPHELD DURING GAME PLAY
League rules
* a 30 second play clock between plays

* Two timeouts per game,45 seconds long, at which point game clock restarts. clock will stop in last 2 minutes of half to mark off penalties only. if player is injured, clock will only stop if determined it's not just a stinger

* Any ball hitting any obstruction or field equipment is loss of down
.
* Any ball hitting, spiking or throwing is delay of game or unsportsmanlike conduct
.
*fighting – ejection from league, forfeit all payments (fighting, one punch or kick,)
.
*Abuse to a game official or staff member of Southbay will result in league ejection, forfeit of all payments.

*protests/discrepancies to be brought to Commissioners attention by team captain within two days
*teams will clean up their own sidelines, or be subject to discipline by commissioner
.*anything not covered specifically in league guidelines/rules will be subject to commissioner review
