TRAINING AT SOUTHBAY

Revolution Athletics strength, conditioning, speed and agility program is designed to help athletes maximize their athletic potential. The foundation of the program is proper running and lifting mechanics. By teaching athletes proper running techniques it will increase their speed and quickness, help to prevent injury and most importantly build self-confidence. In teaching athletes proper lifting techniques, athletes will be able to correct muscle imbalances, build muscle proportionately, prevent injury and build self-confidence.

Youth Athletes & Speed and Agility Training?
Why is it so important to start young?

Let’s start with the basics, how do you learn how to run? For most athletes no one ever actually teaches you how to accelerate, decelerate or cut you just kind of figure it out as you play. So, over time most athletes develop bad habits which are much harder to correct as they get older. The purpose of this program is to teach young athletes how to properly accelerate, decelerate and change direction. By learning proper mechanics and techniques athletes will see a much faster improvement in their overall athleticism. While teaching athletes proper running mechanics and techniques they will also be preventing injury and building confidence.

Most ACL injuries are non-contact injuries. This usually occurs because an athlete was never taught how to properly decelerate or cut and the body is put into a poor position, eventually leading to a sprain or full blown tear. Also at a young age most athletes are not sure of what sports they will play when they are older. They are testing the waters and figuring out which sports they like the most. One thing athletes have to do in every sport is run. So should these athletes focus on learning the sport specific skills or should they learn how to be an athlete? All athletes’ foundations are their athleticism.

Everybody has seen that one athlete who is just good at every sport. It’s not because that athlete has better sport specific skills it’s because that athlete has more athleticism! Revolution Athletics goal is to help produce more athletes! Athlete's whose foundations are properly built, consisting of balance, stabilization, strength, power, explosiveness, quickness, agility, flexibility, endurance, coordination and most important self confidence! If an athlete has these key abilities they will be able to transform into a complete athlete!
