LEVEL ONE AGILITY AND STRENGTH CLASS

Week 1 - level one skill test

Weeks 2 - 9: each class will provide specific training that is geared to improve level one skill test.

Week 10:  Level one re-test 

 

FLEXABILITY TEST - Basic  and advanced stretching techniques will be used in the beginning and end of each class to ensure each athlete gains substantial overall flexibility to avoid injury and improve explosive playing movements. 

 

CORE TESTS - Each class will provide beginner and advanced core training elements. Class will be progressive in nature and will adapt to individual athletic abilities. Class will teach proper core stabilization, form and the importance of strong core in every athletic situation.  Basic yoga and Pilates’ techniques may also be introduced.  

 

STRENGTH / POWER - Multiple level training will be used to improve upper and lower body strength. Basic strength training with out the use of weights will primarily be used to improve core strength and raw upper and lower body power.  Example:  Push ups, squats and different variations of these exercises offer the athlete the ability to improve his/her upper and lower body strength.  Some Upper body ply metric movements will be used depending on athletic ability and age. Some Lower body ply metric movements will be used to increase overall lower body strength and power.  

 

SPEED TRAINING – ALL SPEED DRILLS WILL BE TESTED AND TIMED.Ex: Athlete will be asked to complete a series of timed  and distance measured speed drills. These drills will test and train explosive starting, endurance and recovery. Athlete’s result will be recorded  weekly and the difficulty of each test will be increased week to week by the use of speed training equipment. Ex: weighted vests and parachute resistance equipment.  Drills will be horizontally and vertical.  

 

AGILITY -   Like speed training athletes will be expected to progress from basic agility drills to advance depending on ability and age.  Drills will include ladder runs cone drills and many variations of each. Lateral, horizontal and backward drills will be included to develop overall athletic ability.

This class runs on Tuesdays begining Jauary 8th and runs for 10 weeks until March 27.

There are no classes Tuesday, 2/21. 

$175 per person

Classes run:

Ages 13-18: Tuesdays,  7pm-8pm Jan 8 - Jan 29

Ages 8-12:   Thursdays, 7pm-8pm Feb 14 - April 3

Ages 13-18:  Thursdays  8pm-9pm Feb 14 - April 3
